GvA Leistungselektronik has designed and establshed a 3-phase AC breaker for a test field. Six paralleled pieces of large 5' Thyristors are used per switch function.

This new indroduced power supplies are designed to feed IGCT driver boards in medium voltage applications. They can get used for applications in which 10 pieces of IGCT`s are connected in series or in 3-level-IGCT-inverter applications.

As replacement for a mechanical medium voltage switch GvA Leistungselektronik GmbH has established and delivered first stack samples. One phase is equipped with 10 pieces light triggered Thyristores connected in sereies and protection networks. The system is forced air cooled.

For induction heating and melting, GvA Leistungselektronik GmbH has developed a high power IGBT inverter stack. Two IGBT`s on water cooler are paralleled. The inverter stack is ready for use with driverboards, temperature sensors, DC-capacitor bank and low inductive laminated DC bus system.

As replacement for a mechanical medium voltage switch Gva Leistungselektronik has established and delivered first stack samples. One phase is equipped with 8 pieces IGCT 35SHYL45xx with additional diodes and protection networks. The system is liquid cooled. Forced air cooling is possible on request.

For a traction application GvA Leistungselektronik GmbH has designed, established and delivered IGCT traction chopper stacks. The stack is equipped with 2 pieces IGCT 5SHY35L4512 in series connected with its necessary free wheeling diodes and protection networks. The system is liquid cooled.

For a 3-level inverter solution GvA Leistungselektronik GmbH has established phase leg units and delivered for testing. One switch function contains 4 pieces of IGCT 5SHY35L4511 in series connected ( 16 pieces in total for the complete phase leg) with its necessary free wheeling diodes. The system is water cooled.

This new developed pulse power switch is designed to work self contained from its own 40.000V DC bus voltage. The max. peak current of 6.000A results in a peak power of 240MW for 240us. The optical control interface with its control electronics works self contained from its own 40.000V DC bus voltage. An additional electronic prevent recovery time problems.

New IGCT inverter stacks for MVD`s up to 4500V output voltage. The inverter stacks are available as 3-level-inverter-stacks, forced air cooled up to 3.5MVA rated output power. It is complete with with optical controled driver board interfaces, DC-clamp, DC-capacitor and aux.power supply with high isolation/partial dicharge voltage to supply the driver boards.

ABB Semiconductors AG, Lenzburg introduces..... IGCT designed for high power applications, available as reverse conducting or asymmetrical blocking device. This new power semiconductor is available with blocking voltages up to 5500V and max. turn off currents up to 4000A. The IGCT is the ideal component for 2- and 3-level inverter solutions in power ranges above 1MVA. The integrated driver board has a optical control interface. Snubberless operation is possible. The IGCT shows significant lower losses related to same sized IGBT`s. This results in small heat sink sizes, in compact and cost optimized designs related to the output power achieved. The disc cell housing ensures a excellent power cycle fatique ruggedness and superior explosion behavior in case of catastrophic failure related to IGBT in module housings.

For applications up to 1MVA, GvA Leistungselektronik GmbH offeres a wide range of IGBT inverter stacks. They are available liquid and forced air cooled, designed for supply voltages up to 1200Veff rectified and equiped with driver boards with optical or electrical control interfaces, short circuit detection and shut down and failure feed back.
